The municipality is celebrating it’s 11th Kabutenyo Festival. And at the same time, it’s 38th founding anniversary. Having been classified as a municipality on March 14, 1981.
The municipality is proud to have Cultured Oyster Mushroom. As it’s One Town One Product (OTOP). Spearheaded by the Municipal Mayor, Hon. Walter D. Echevarria, Jr. In 2014 as an alternative livelihood activity for low-income earner constituents of the municipality.
Not only but also, to fully promote the One Town One Product. The Kabutenyo Festival came to birth in 2005. And now on its 11th Kabutenyo Festival. The Hon. Walter D. Echevarria, Jr. strongly believes that by conducting an annual festivity highlighting Cultured Oyster Mushroom. Will make the town more popular when it comes to tourism. Which is equally important as a livelihood to the community.
What is Oyster Mushroom, and how it is being produced? And also at the same time, it’s nutritional value, would not only promote the product but surely, would enhance its marketability bringing more benefits to the municipality and the beneficiary-producers as well.
It’s also been one of the aims further, not a dream of the municipality to emerge as the Cultured Oyster Mushroom capital in the Province of Cavite. And also, in the country in the future. Given the right exposure, financial assistance as well as technical innovations on producing Cultured Oyster Mushroom. It is hope that this dream would realize. Within the time frame, it’s been set.
